Kids, I don’t know about you, but Hulu’s new sitcom spin-off, How I Met Your Father, has made me want to watch its predecessor again. I don’t think this is a bad thing about the show. In fact, I don’t want to just watch all 208 episodes of How I Met Your Mother again, or even just the best episodes. I want to go a little deeper and learn about some of the stories that we didn’t get to hear from the late Bob Saget as Future Ted.
So, I’m going to write down a list of some of the best stories I can think of. You don’t want to miss these amazing behind-the-scenes facts about one of the best TV shows of all time. Neil Patrick Harris doesn’t look like the way the creators thought about Barney Stinson.
It changed a lot when Neil Patrick Harris was cast as Barney Stinson. Carter Bays and Craig Thomas were writing How I Met Your Mother when they came up with the idea for Barney Stinson. In 2008, the actor told the A.V. Club about how his now-iconic role changed from the script to the screen, and he said this:
HIMYM Season 1 is where most of the scenes with Ted’s kids were shot.
Because Lyndsy Fonseca and David Henrie stayed the same age over the course of nine seasons – except for one Season 9 promo where the grown-up actors beg their dad to finish his story after 9 years, which is very funny. They deserve an award for that. It isn’t magic that makes them look younger on the show. It’s the result of a lot of smart planning.
During a Season 2 scene, a real marriage proposal took place on the set of the show.
When Robin Scherbatsky (Cobie Smulders) found another man’s engagement ring in her champagne. She thought it was Ted Mosby’s (Josh Radnor) own proposal to her. But it was actually another man’s ring. The real proposal that comes up a moment later is more real than you might have thought. Even though you may not have thought that.
Some HIMYM cast members have shown up on the show with their real-life spouses, and it has been a big hit.
This isn’t the only real-life love story from the set of the show. Timothy Russo and Jana Rugan got married, but not in the same way. Three members of the How I Met Your Mother cast have shared the screen with their real-life spouses in some well-known roles.
Most of the websites that HIMYM talks about are real.
There are a few other ways in which How I Met Your Mother has somehow found its way into the real world. Most people find it very funny that the show makes fun of the internet by mentioning websites that you might think are just a joke.
In the beginning, Alicia Silverstone was going to play Stella Zinman.

Ad-Libbed The Scene When Marshall Finds Out That His Father Died
We can, however, say for sure that How I Met Your Mother co-creator Carter Bays said this. People say that it has to do with the end of a Season 6 episode. In which Lily says to Marshall Eriksen that his father (Bill Fagerbakke) has passed away. A piece he wrote for Entertainment Weekly shows how a former cast member of Freaks. And Geeks made a heartbreaking scene even more heartbreaking than it was written to be.
At the end of Season 4, HIMYM came up with some fun ways to “hide” the fact that Alyson Hannigan and Cobie Smulders were pregnant.
Another time “improvisation” was used on the set of How I Met Your Mother was when both Alyson Hannigan. And Cobie Smulders told the show’s producers that they were having a baby during the production of Season 4 of the show. They had to figure out how to hide their pregnancies from the camera. Because this was not in the books for either Lily or Robin at that point in the series. This led to some fun moments.
