It isn’t easy to believe that the first Harry Potter film was released over two decades ago!
Harry Potter fans celebrate 10th anniversary of the final Harry Potter film on 1st January 2022. Who’s in the mood to feel incredibly elderly right now? While Hollywood has moved on to an entirely new Harry Potter franchise, we believe it will not be long before all eight original films are rebooted. Even if this occurs soon, we are confident that there will be generations of fans who will never accept anyone other than Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson as the original HP trio. After all, we live in a day and age when original scripts appear to be a thing of the past.
Today, we will look back for some most inspirational images from the first Harry Potter flicks. These behind-the-scenes photos are guaranteed to bring back memories for any fan of the show.
1. Three little kids are going on an incredible adventure.
Here we saw Daniel, Emma, and Rupert as they were about to go on a fantastic expedition that would change their lives forever. While thousands of kids auditioned for these roles, these three were chosen to play them. In retrospect, we wonder if they had any idea how much their lives were about to alter.
2. There appears to be good rapport between them.
It’s always amusing to see performers out of character, but it’s even more bizarre to see when the actors in question are known for portraying some of cinema’s most heinous monsters. Who’d have guessed Dumbledore and Harry would be posing with Bellatrix and Voldemort for a photo? Another amusing aspect of this photograph is that Voldemort has a nose!
3. The Triwizard Tournament Preparation
Harry Potter’s special effects were unquestionably groundbreaking for their time. In the fourth movie, we not only saw Harry fight a very lifelike dragon, but we also saw him transform into a kind of fish-man. In this movie, Daniel is prepping his gills.
4. A Gryffindor Get-Together!
Our buddy Seamus Finnigan appears to be crashing a Weasley family gathering in this one. This image was captured behind the scenes of the Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets film. Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley) appears to be overjoyed at the prospect of commencing her first year at Hogwarts.
5. An Attractive Cast
In the first two films, the cast’s youngsters were all adorable. In the following films, however, it became painfully clear that the children had reached puberty. However, they had all matured into their roles by the end of the series. They’re looking dashing in this photo!
6. Dudley Dursley’s Transformation
Dudley Dursley was not everyone’s favorite character, let’s face it. While he had some amusing moments, he was primarily a spoilt child who enjoyed making Harry’s life difficult. Nonetheless, actor Harry Melling did an excellent job in the role. Here’s a picture of how he appears right now.
7. J.K. Rowling and Her Children
J.K. Rowling appears to have a close relationship with most of the film’s stars to this day. Her tweets are well-known, and fans have even caught her tweeting at her children! Here’s a beautiful photo of J.K. Rowling, who looks as though she couldn’t be prouder of her three leading players.
8. Professor McGonagall and Harry have a long history together.
Dame Maggie Smith has previously expressed her admiration for Daniel Radcliffe, the young Harry Potter actor. While we’re sure they formed a deep friendship while working on these films, the first Harry Potter film was not the first time they collaborated. David Copperfield, a two-part BBC miniseries, features the two of them.
9. Draco was Hermione’s crush!
Some may be curious why Emma Watson never dated Daniel Radcliffe or Rupert Grint in real life. They spent a lot of time together. In 2012, she said on The Jonathan Ross Show that she and her two on-screen best buddies were just friends in real life. She did, however, deliver this bombshell: “Between the ages of 10 and 12, I had a terrible crush on Tom Felton.”
10. Is it just us, or does Hagrid appear to be less hairy on this site?
This photo features not one but two beardless Hagrids! The man seated is Robbie Coltrane, the actor who played Hagrid in all eight films. Martin Bayfield, however, is the enormous man dressed as Hagrid. Bayfield is 6′ 10″ tall, so it’s no surprise that he was used as a body double in some scenes. Oh, the enchantment of editing!
11. Neville Longbottom has had a good run throughout the years.
Matthew Lewis has undergone a remarkable turnaround. While it’s true that Lewis was forced to wear artificial teeth and a fat suit in the first film, he still managed to astonish everyone when he grew up into the highly stunning guy he is now. Neville, you’ve done a fantastic job! Neville Longbottom has had a good run throughout the years.
12. It’s all about Cedric!
Any Twihards in the audience may find this one difficult to look at. Before he became the dreamy vampire Edward Cullen, Robert Pattinson was the dreamy Quidditch-playing Hufflepuff of every girl’s dream. Even though his character only lived long enough to appear in one of the films, any real Potterhead will never forget him as Cedric Diggory.
13. On the final day of the film, the last hug
It’s time for us to say our final goodbyes. On the penultimate day of filming, we had a shot of our three leads embracing each other. We can only imagine how many emotions were present in this beautiful photograph. These three have formed a friendship that will last a lifetime.
14. Reminding about Alan Rickman.
Before he was cast as Severus Snape in the Harry Potter films, Alan Rickman was regarded as one of the greatest actors. No one else could have done a more incredible job of portraying the character. Many of his co-stars said he was a joy to work with, and he had a superb acting resume to boot. At the age of 69, Rickman died in 2016.
15. We’re Still Shocked Fred Didn’t Make It.
One of the most challenging goodbyes we had to give during the Harry Potter series was, without a doubt, when Fred Weasley died during the Battle of Hogwarts. They were so outstanding that appearances didn’t matter! Even though they didn’t look like the lads portrayed in the books, James and Oliver Phelps played the wise-cracking twins.
16. A Walk With Two Young Wizards
We’re staring at a young Rupert Grint and Daniel Radcliffe out for a walk. This photo is claimed to be from one of the first meetings between the two! It’s assumed that these two have developed a tight friendship in real life after so many years of pretending to be best friends.
17. The Cutest Bully on the Planet
Fans of the Twilight series chose between Team Edward and Team Jacob, while fans of the Harry Potter films chose between Team Harry and Team Draco. Although Draco was a spoilt bully for most of the novel, his gorgeous features and bleach white hair were enough to sell many people on Tom Felton.
18. Breaking Character: Bellatrix
In the Harry Potter books, there were three genuinely terrible villains. Voldemort was unmistakably present. Then there was Professor Umbridge, who was a mysterious character. Finally, there’s Bellatrix Lestrange. The woman was insane and extremely dangerous. On the other hand, Daniel Radcliffe and Helena Bonham Carter appear to be having a terrific (and not at all terrifying) time in this photo!
19. The Century’s Youngest Seeker
We’re looking at a promotional image for the first installment of the HP flicks. Even if the shot is a little off-putting, the nostalgia is palpable. Of course, now that we live in a world where everything is a meme, this photo has undoubtedly been humorously edited multiple times.
20. From the beginning to the end
This photo will undoubtedly bring tears to the eyes of any Harry Potter lover who has stood with him through it all. It was adorable to watch these three children grow up over ten years. Also, during the Battle of Hogwarts, Ron has a less anxious expression. He must have known Harry would save the day all along!
