Friends star who played Ross’ wife Emily looks unrecognisable since appearing on the American hit sitcom.

British actress Helen Baxendale looks completely different to when she starred on Friends alongside Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry,Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer.

The show aired almost three decades ago and has recently been revealed as the number one favourite some among young TV viewers.

Its final episode was shown 18 years ago but one of the main plots revolved around Helen’s character Emily and David lead character Ross Geller.

Despite Ross being with Emily he clearly had lingering feelings for Rachel Green who’s played by Jennifer

Ross’s doomed marriage to second wife Emily made one of the most gag-worthy moments in sitcom history.

While at the altar in 1998, Ross let slip the wrong name calling Emily Rachel in front of everyone.

The iconic moment began the end of Emily’s time on the show but since she has appeared in a wide range of movies and TV shows.

The 51-year-old starred in Cold Feet from 1997 until 2003 with co-star James Nesbitt as she portrayed Rachel.

The mother-of-three revealed when the ITV show returned in 2016 she was approached to be in the new series despite the death of her character.

Speaking to The Sun, she said: “They’ve been so lovely and said, ‘Look, we really would want you in it’ – but I don’t know how they would do that.

“They did come to me and ask and say, ‘How can we get her back in?’”

Helen has also starred in BBC sitcom Cuckoo from 2012 to 2019 as she played Lorna, the mother-in-law to Dale ‘Cuckoo’ Ashbrick.

The actress has also appeared in a casting for rapper Stormzy playing a house keeping in his hit single Noughts and Crosses.
