Rupert Grint’s remark during the Harry Potter reunion reportedly caught Emma Watson off guard.

The highly anticipated Harry Potter reunion special on HBO Max. Which commemorated the film franchise’s 20th anniversary, reunited Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson. And Rupert Grint with their fellow co-stars to reminisce about their time on set. While many enjoyable and heartwarming moments were. The cast also made a few surprising revelations that caught viewers off guard.

Watson, who shared an emotional sit-down with Grint during the Harry Potter reunion special, makes one such revelation. During their interview, the actors admitted that they both considered leaving the Harry Potter franchise at some point due to their fame problems. Particularly around the time of the fifth film, Order of the Phoenix. That was unexpected enough, but as the conversation progressed. Grint revealed his true feelings about the cast, saying that they’re a family and will always be a part of each other’s lives.

He hugged Watson and told her, “I love you,” before quickly clarifying to the camera that he meant “as friends.”  Watson said she was surprised by Grint’s positive remarks in a recent interview with Vogue UK.

She explained that he is the type of person who truly believes what he says, so calling her family meant a lot to her.

While both actors conversed with Radcliffe, Watson and Grint’s exchange was undoubtedly one of the most memorable parts of the show. According to Watson, it was the most moving part of the Harry Potter reunion. She also expressed surprise that Grint would be so vulnerable and open about his feelings on camera.

Vogue then asked Watson if the three of them stayed in touch. She claims that both Radcliffe and Grint despise WhatsApp and their phones in general, so they don’t use them to communicate. Watson claims they talk to each other individually despite not being in a group chat. It’s reassuring for fans to know that the three of them are on-screen friends and in real life.
