According to reports, WrestleMania 38 could feature a dream match between Edge and a former WWE Champion.

AJ Styles wants a WrestleMania match with Edge before they both retire from WWE

Following his work with The Miz and Maryse, Edge appears to be on his way to bigger and better things in WWE as WrestleMania 38 approaches. The Rated-R Superstar was last seen on television at the Royal Rumble, but he is expected to return for the April event.

Sean Ross Sapp was asked about the possibility of Edge facing AJ Styles at WrestleMania during a text-based Q&A session on Fightful Select. He stated that the match had been proposed for the event.

Fans have been hoping to see the two former WWE Champions square off in recent years, but their only in-ring encounter was brief. They competed in the 2020 Royal Rumble match. But The Phenomenal One suffered a separated shoulder due to an errant spear bump. His night was cut short due to the injury.

Before they retire from WWE, AJ Styles wants a WrestleMania match with Edge.

AJ Styles make no secret of his desire to face the WWE Hall of Famer, ideally at WrestleMania. The two-time WWE Champion recently appeared as a guest on Ryan Satin’s Out Of Character podcast, where he discussed the possibility of this dream match taking place in Dallas.

“Everyone has the same guy in mind that I do – Edge,” Styles said. “And he has the same problem. As if we both had the same thought. Will it take place? We aren’t usually the ones that handle that. So we’ll do what’s expected of us. We hope we get the chance before we both retire.” (12:02)
Since their Royal Rumble debuts/returns in 2016 and 2020, respectively, both WWE legends have competed in some dream matches. This clash would only add to their already illustrious careers.

With The Phenomenal One vying for the WWE Championship at Elimination Chamber in Saudi Arabia, this possible WrestleMania match could be for the world championship.
