Friends: The Reunion: Jennifer Aniston And David Schwimmer Admit They Had Feelings For Each Other While Filming Friends

*WARNING – THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR FRIENDS: THE REUNION*

Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer have given fans the news we’ve all been waiting for – they had *real* feelings for each other during the filming of Friends.

Yep, all the chemistry in those Ross and Rachel scenes – including their first kiss at Central Perks (more on that later) – had some truth behind them.

Jennifer, 52, and David, 54, confirmed the news during the Friends reunion special, which dropped this morning after host James Corden asked if any of the cast members had off-screen romances.

“Will you allow me to ask what I would consider a cheeky question,” James says. “It’s hard not to recognize that you’re all young, hot, good-looking successful actors. It’s inconceivable to me that there weren’t perhaps off-screen romances.”

After a short pause, Jennifer looks at David from across the sofa and says: “Well… I mean… David… the first season.”

David adds: “The first season… we… I had a major crush on Jen.”

“It was reciprocated,” Jennifer replies.

David then explains the real-life romantic feelings between the pair and why they weren’t able to become a couple off-screen. “At some point, we were both crushing hard on each other,” he says. “But it was like two ships passing because one of us was always in a relationship and we never crossed that boundary and we both respected that.”

Matt LeBlanc quips: “Bullsh*t”, as the crowd erupts in laughter.

Ross and Rachel famously had their first kiss at the Central Perk Cafe in the season 2 episode ‘The One Where Ross Finds Out’ which is now considered one of the best episodes of television ever.

But in a rather sad turn of events, Jennifer reveals the pair were never able to truly explore their feelings. She even admitted to David at the time that she didn’t want their first kiss to be “on national TV”.

“I remember saying to David ‘it’s gonna be such a bummer if the first time you and I kiss is gonna be on national television and sure enough the first time we kissed was in that coffee shop.”

Our jaws are on the floor.

“We knew,” says Matthew Perry and Courteney Cox at the same time.

Just when we thought we couldn’t love Ross and Rachel more than we already do, Jennifer and David give us this adorable anecdote!

As the cast of Friends kicks off the promotional run for the highly-anticipated reunion, Courteney Cox has blessed us with her favorite scene – and safe to say it’s iconic.

Courteney sat down for an interview for the American morning TV show Good Morning America on Tuesday alongside co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, and Matt LeBlanc.

They were all asked to name their favorite moments from the cult ’90s sitcom, with Courteney naming Monica and Ross’s infamous dance routine in the season six episode ‘The One With The Routine’.

The episode takes place on New Year’s Eve and sees Joey’s girlfriend Janine invite the gang to come along to a taping of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.

As fans will remember, super fans Monica and Ross are desperate to have been on telly but have to dance on the platform to do so – so they pull out all the stops and put on what is now known amongst fans as ‘The Routine’ – a cringeworthy dance they performed done since they were kids.

Dropping on Thursday, Friends: The Reunion will see the original cast members reminisce about the most iconic moments from their time on the beloved sitcom, and will also feature a host of A-List guest stars.

https://s3-images.tyla.com/s3/content/d1d06f4560a6ab16818858fdfa635339.png (720×404)

The Friends reunion trailer dropped yesterday evening – and we were not prepared for this level of emotion! Ever since the clip was released, fans have been bawling their eyes out over the nostalgic scenes.

The one-off special – that will see our old favorites: Jennifer Aniston, Matthew Perry, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, and Matt LeBlanc reminisce about their time on the sitcom – will air on 27th May. We’ve waited so long to see the cast back together, so naturally, it was pretty emotional for fans.

“I’ve watched the friend trailer 28489 times and I cannot stop crying why am I like this,” one person wrote on Twitter.

While another added: “God, I’m crying just from this trailer. I’m going to be a mess when I watch it.”

And a third tweeted: “If you’re not sat crying at the friend’s reunion trailer then you’re not a fan, I won’t argue with you.”

The trailer begins with the friends recreating the iconic ‘test’ scene, in which Ross is the host and Rachel and Monica are competing with Chandler and Joey.

Friends fans will know the game saw Monica and Rachel compete with the boys to get rid of the chick and the duck, but they ended up losing their apartment after they couldn’t remember Chandler’s job title.

The cast can then be seen walking around the empty set. “Does Courteney still have her lines written on the table?” says Matt.

And – much to fans’ shock – Jennifer reveals Ross and Rachel were on a break.

Fans aren’t the only ones in tears either – in fact, at several points in the trailer, the cast can be seen in tears.

“It was an incredible time,” says Courteney. “We all became best friends.”

SOB.
