The show Friends certainly had its fair share of memorable episodes that audiences quote, make memes out of, and relate to. But with ten years’ worth of episodes, there’s a lot to remember about each friend’s journey and the ups and downs they experienced along the way.
10.”The One With All The Wedding Dresses” (Season 4, Episode 20)
While Chandler forces Joey to go to a sleep clinic for his snoring, Rachel is struggling with the fact that Ross is going to marry Emily, and she pushes her new boyfriend, Joshua, into marriage a little too soon, scaring him off. Monica and Phoebe, in the meantime, have been having fun as pretend brides, throwing bouquets to one another, and they later invite Rachel to join them, which makes her feel better.
9.”The One Where They All Turn Thirty” (Season 7, Episode 14)
Turning thirty is a milestone birthday. None of the friends handled their milestone birthdays particularly well, as shown through flashbacks. Rachel is the one turning thirty in this episode, and she comes to the conclusion that, based on what she wants in life, she should already be with the guy she wants to marry, and thus ends things with Tag.
8.”The One Where Joey Loses His Insurance” (Season 6, Episode 4)
This episode has so many funny storylines. Ross gets the opportunity to be a guest lecturer, but his nervousness causes him to use a fake, and frankly unrealistic, British accent. When Monica and Rachel attend one of his lectures, they make fun of him and use their own fake accents, which they later use again when they prank call Ross. Joey, meanwhile, has lost his insurance at the worst time, as he manages to get a hernia.
7.”The One With All The Rugby” (Season 4, Episode 15)
This episode had great storylines for each of the main characters! To prove how tough he is to Emily, Ross participates in a game of rugby, which turns out to be more brutal than Ross can handle. Thankfully, Emily’s knowledge of the players’ setbacks comes in handy.
6.”The One With George Stephanopoulos” (Season 1, Episode 4)
Rachel’s panic in this episode is one of the most relatable moments in the series. She’s devastated when she finds out how much she makes after taxes, and to make it worse, she runs into old friends who are all experiencing some kind of milestone that she isn’t, and she’s bummed.
5.”The One With The Ring” (Season 6, Episode 23)
Phoebe helps Chandler pick out an engagement ring for Monica in this episode. It was a good and significant moment in their friendship, as Phoebe helped him find the perfect ring. Unfortunately, Phoebe gets distracted by trying on a bunch of jewelry. Someone else buys the ring, and Phoebe goes after him but gets caught on the way out thanks to the alarm system, and she points the musket she was holding at the salespeople, demanding to be let out.
4.”The One On The Last Night” (Season 6, Episode 6)
The night before Rachel moves out and Chandler moves in, Rachel still hasn’t packed. Monica and Phoebe end up helping her, and trying to ease Monica and Rachel’s sadness, Phoebe inadvertently causes a fight between them when she gets them to list things they won’t miss about the other. Phoebe fixes her mistake later on and gets Rachel and Monica to make up.
3.”The One Where Rachel Quits” (Season 3, Episode 10)
Chandler and Joey convince Rachel to quit her job at Central Perk to pursue her dream career in fashion, but she panics when she does so and has no leads on her next job. As it turns out, however, Rachel finds work with Fortunata Fashions, though she still has to make coffee there, too. The thing is, this career move changed Rachel’s life greatly, as it began her career path and she later landed jobs with Bloomingdale’s and Ralph Lauren.
2.”The One With All The Candy” (Season 7, Episode 9)
Monica makes candy for the neighbors, and while it’s a big hit for them, they become too greedy, which stresses out Monica. Elsewhere, Rachel and Tag deal with a problem at work when she hands in the wrong evaluation. However, the highlight of this episode is when Ross gives Phoebe a beautiful pink bike.
1.”The One Where Rosita Dies” (Season 7, Episode 13)
Joey mourns the loss of his beloved chair, Rosita, and Monica mourns the loss of her childhood treasures, though she gains a Porsche. However, the storyline that stands out most in this episode is how far Phoebe went to save the life of Earl, played by Jason Alexander.
